    HE Mr. Giovanni Brauzzi, Ambassador of Italy to Jordan and HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh patronized a concert held by the Jordanian National Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Francesco Attardi.

    Amman - The Jordanian National Orchestra (JOrchestra), conducted by the Italian Maestro Francesco Attardi, held a concert on 15th May at Al Hussein Cultural Center, under the joint patronage of HE Mr. Giovanni Brauzzi and HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, in the presence of HE Mr. Nabih Shaqm, Minister of Culture, as guest of honor. Guests included Ambassadors, other diplomatic figures as well as a large crowd of classical music admirers.
     
    The evening event falls within the framework of continued cooperation between TAG Organization and the Embassy of Italy in Jordan, which periodically organizes joint events and initiatives celebrating the signing of an agreement by the Italian Ambassador and HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, aiming at enhancing economic and cultural relations between the two countries as well as promoting two way traffic tourism.
    On the occasion, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh emphasized the fact that this concert further attests to the strength of the relations between the two countries underlining how the Italian embassy is considered an important partner in the PETRA project as well as in many other engaging initiatives.
    He also expressed his great pleasure for the existing cooperation with the Italian Embassy through the initiatives and activities of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization, helping the diffusion and promotion of Italian culture and language, particularly through TAGBC Radio, where many programs are dedicated to the Italian culture and music, interviews with Italian prominent figures from the cultural sector, Italian kitchen recipes and Italian football programs in Italian and Arabic. That is in addition to a program focusing on the shared common heritage terms in both Arabic and Italian languages.
    On his part, Ambassador Brauzzi praised the strength of the established relations and the role of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh in facilitating the cooperation between the two sides in various aspects, especially language and culture.
    He stressed Italy's interest in the region in view of its proximity as a neighboring country and its historical ties and relics. He also stressed Jordan's importance and role in the region, praising the country’s stability and openness to the others while preserving its traditions. Ambassador Brauzzi also  underlined the great similarity between Italy and Jordan, both lacking natural resources but powered by outstanding human resources.
    The concert included well-known pieces such as La Traviata (Giuseppe Verdi), Ludwig Van Beethoven Symphony n.5 in C minor and Gioacchino Rossini’s Overture from La Gazza Ladra and the rarely performed Serenata by Giovanni Sgambati as well as the performance of the singer Natalie Samaan of Majida Al Roumi’s song “Habibi”.
